Location/Region:

  • Acheson / Provincial at the Bridgespan Cafe & Grill
  • Bridgespan is a cafeteria-style restaurant located within an industrial park, operating as a social enterprise of Rehoboth Christian Ministries

Description:

  • The Chef takes charge of Bridgespan Café and Grill’s kitchen operations, including cooking and leading the staff in all matters related to food preparation and service, and any other relative activities.
    The Chef ensures there are adequate food supplies, plans the menu, and sees that the kitchen and equipment are kept immaculate at all times.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Chef
  • Alberta Food Handler Certification
  • Experience with people with disabilities an added advantage
  • Knowledge of culinary trends
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient command/comprehension of the English language
  • Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-pressure environment
  • Police information Check that does not disqualify you from employment
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Class 5 License & Personal Vehicle (Cafe Vehicle also available for use)
  • WHMIS

 Physical Demands:

  • Long period of standing, periodic bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities.
  • Frequent activities requiring carrying of object to and from shelving and coolers. Occasional lifting or carrying of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Frequently working with kitchen power equipment and over high heat of stove, ovens, and dishwasher that require dedicated focus to ensure safety.

Years of Experience:
More than two years relevant experience


Salary:
$30.48- $35.66 per hour (dependant on education/experience)


Current Openings

Position: Chef
Hours: 40 hours per week/ Monday to Friday/ 0800-1600, possibly some evening and Saturdays for special events
