ACDS

ACDS?

The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is a not-for-profit network of Community Disability Services (CDS) sector organizations in Alberta.
The member-driven organization works closely with the Government of Alberta and other partners, to strengthen the
CDS sector to benefit Albertans with developmental disabilities.

ACDS Vision
People with disabilities live full lives as citizens supported by a vibrant network of services in their communities

ACDS Mission
ACDS is the collective voice of their members, advancing excellence and best practices,
advocating for effective public policy, and championing professional disability services

ACDS Values
With over 145 members, ACDS collectively influences the policy agenda related to persons with developmental
disabilities and the organizations that support them.
And, through progressive standards, programs and services, ACDS engages and elevates the sector towards a shared vision

What is the #QualityCDS campaign?

Even in this most challenging time, in the midst of a pandemic, organizations have continued to deliver high-quality supports to individuals, through hard work, resilience, and innovation.

The campaign has two aspects:

1. Sharing facts about the history of, and current status of community-based service delivery.

2. Celebrating CDS sector organizations and staff through stories and messages depicting outstanding work.

  • Phase 1 of the campaign will celebrate the sector’s work in response to COVID-19, sharing stories of collaboration in the sector, as well as celebrating staff who have gone above and beyond during the pandemic.
