Thank you for being a part of our team! Your role is crucial in creating a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our campers. This review provides essential information and tips to help you support and guide the clients effectively.

Sun and Element Exposure:
Sun Safety: 

Protective Clothing: Ensure if needed that clients wear long sleeves1 hats, and sunglasses to protect against UV rays.

Seeking Shade: Find and encourage clients to stay in shaded areas during peak sun hours (10 AM to 4 PM).

Applying Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every 2 hours, and after swimming or sweating.

 
Sunscreen Application:

 

1.    Importance of Sunscreen:

Sunscreen helps prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage.

2.    Proper Application:

•       Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen: Use SPF 30 or higher.

•       Application Timing: Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before sun exposure.

•       Reapplication: Reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming or sweating.

3.    Assistance for Campers:

Help clients apply sunscreen to ensure they are fully covered, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

 

Hydration Management
 

1.    Encouraging Regular Hydration:

•      Remind clients to drink water regularly, not just when they feel thirsty.

•      Schedule regular water breaks throughout the day, especially during and after physical activities.

2.       Recognizing Dehydration:

•      Be aware of the signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth, dizziness, and dark urine.

•      Encourage campers to drink water immediately if they show any signs of dehydration.

 

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients at Camp Flourish. As part of our staff, it is crucial that you are aware of and understand the environmental risks associated with a camp setting. This form serves as an acknowledgment that you have received and understood the orientation on the following topics:

1. Staff to Client Ratio: Understanding the importance of maintaining the appropriate staff to client ratio to ensure safety and supervision.

2. Sunburn Prevention: 

- Regular application of sun lotion.

- Recognizing the signs of sunburn and appropriate response measures.

3. Application of Sun Lotion:

- Correct procedures for applying sun lotion to clients.

- Frequency of reapplication, especially after swimming or sweating.

4. Hydration Management:

Ensuring clients have access to clean drinking water.

- Recognizing signs of dehydration and appropriate response measures


Liability

I give permission for the Camp Director(s) and/or med admin staff to act on my behalf in case of an Emergency. I agree to participate in all the camp activities to the best of my ability. I understand that the Camp Director(s) reserve the right to dismiss any person from further participation in the RCM Client Camp Program, in the event that its representatives shall determine that such person be found unsuitable for this type of camp experience. I release Rehoboth Christian Ministries and its representatives from all liability for personal injury or damage to personal property in the event of wilful misconduct on my part.


Scheme of Employment Agreement

I understand that I will be working continuously from Monday at 08:00 to Friday at 16:00 using the 24 hour Care Worker Exemption of 16 wake (regular) and 8 sleep hours. (Policy 3.2.12).

Program Supervisors attending Camp will be paid their PS wage for their regularly scheduled hours. Hours over and above will be paid at their CSW wage rate.
