Meet Gabriel, a bright and caring individual from Calgary who has been part of the Rehoboth family since 2011. Over the years, we’ve had the joy of watching him grow, thrive, and truly flourish.
When Gabriel first joined Rehoboth, communication was a big challenge for him. It was often hard for others to understand his needs, which left him feeling frustrated and upset. But Gabriel’s story is one of hope, teamwork, and the belief that with the right support, everyone can shine.
Working closely with Gabriel’s mom, medical team, and dedicated Rehoboth staff, a new plan was created—one that gave him the extra support he needed, including two consistent staff members who truly understood him. With patience, compassion, and the right environment, Gabriel began to blossom.
Today, Gabriel’s smile says it all. His confidence has grown, his frustrations have lessened, and his joy is contagious. He now chooses his own schedule and fills his days with the things he loves—train rides, garden visits, swimming, movies, and trips to the zoo!
Most recently, Gabriel began volunteering at River Park Church, where he helps clean toys in the nursery and vacuum the church space—a role he takes great pride in. His willingness to help and his gentle spirit shine through in everything he does.
Gabriel’s story is a beautiful reminder that growth happens when we feel understood, supported, and loved. With the right care and community, Gabriel has transformed into a confident, joyful young man—living proof that everyone can flourish when given the chance.
Way to go, Gabriel! We’re so proud of you.
