Celebrating Community Disability Service Professionals
Every year in May, we gather to honor a group of people whose impact often extends far beyond what words can capture—our Community Disability Service Professionals (CDSPs). This day was dedicated to recognizing the incredible work of those who walk alongside individuals with disabilities, not only providing care but also empowering, advocating, and inspiring every step of the way.
The heart of their work goes far deeper than daily support. Through their patience, compassion, and commitment, CDSPs help individuals build confidence, nurture independence, and flourish in their unique journeys. They are often the steady hands and listening ears that encourage growth, open doors to opportunities, and remind those they serve of their inherent dignity and worth.
Celebrating this day also allowed us to shine a light on the vital role CDSPs play in building inclusive communities. Their work is a living expression of the values we hold dear—inclusion, dignity, and equality—and their example inspires others to step forward into this meaningful field of service.
As we reflected, we were reminded of the words in Psalm 92:12–13 (NIV):
“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree… planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”
Because of the unwavering dedication of our Community Disability Service Professionals, those we support are flourishing—discovering joy, building independence, and living with greater confidence.
