When Alisher arrived in Calgary from Kyrgyzstan in May 2023, he brought with him a quiet strength and a bright spirit ready to grow. Joining Rehoboth’s Community Access Program in April 2024, he faced the challenge of adapting to a new culture and language—speaking only Russian when he first arrived. Yet, with patience, determination, and the loving support of his family and the Rehoboth community, Alisher began to flourish.
In just a short time, he’s learned English so well that he now encourages his mom to speak it—and even chats with his grandparents in his new language! His progress is a beautiful reflection of courage, perseverance, and the power of community.
Beyond words, Alisher shares his heart through art and music. A gifted pianist, he fills every room with warmth and joy as his melodies bring smiles to those around him. He also loves to draw, dance, and sing—spreading happiness wherever he goes.
Alisher’s story reminds us all that with faith, encouragement, and love, we can overcome any challenge and discover new ways to shine.
